In most parts of the developed world, doctors who specialize in geriatric medicine called “geriatricians” are considered as primary care physicians who require specialized medical education. In some parts, it is considered as a further specialization of family medicine. There are also specialized geriatric services such as psycho geriatrics, rehabilitation, and orthopedic surgery.
